Coastguard comes to aid of Cork boat

Waterford Coastguard helicopter and Ballycotton coastguard and Lifeboat were launched this afternoon to assist a pleasure craft off East Co Cork.

The alert was raised shortly after midday, after a problem contacting the craft, with a lone sailor on board.

Sea conditions were choppy at the time but the vessel returned safely to shore and the emergency units were stood down.
