Met Eireann warns of strong gales

Motorists are being advised to drive with caution this morning following high winds and heavy rain last night.

Met Eireann is this morning warning of strong gales on the Irish Sea this morning and west to northwest gales at times along southern and western coasts.

East and northeast gales are expected to develop this evening and tonight on all coasts.

However, the stormy weather has not cause widespread flooding so far, as had been feared.
