Metro North plan 'wasteful'
An alternative transport strategy has been put forward today by a group of concerned citizens who say the Government's 'Transport 21' plan is inefficient and not cost-effective.
The National Transport Users Association said the Government's Metro North plan and any plan to create an underground network is "wasteful and impractical".
Tom Newton, spokesperson for the National Transport Users Association, said linking the LUAS line in an orbital fashion around the capital is "the most cost-effective and efficient way of organising public transport for the city".
