Section of M6 closed westbound today

A section of the M6 motorway in Co Westmeath is closed westbound this afternoon.

The stretch between Junction 3, Rochfortbridge and Junction 4, Tyrellspass is shut until about 3pm, in order to recover a truck which went off the road.

The AA says traffic is extremely heavy approaching the closure eastbound from before the Tullamore and Kilbeggan junctions, and westbound from the Kinnegad West exit, and is advising motorists to consider an alternative route or expect delays.
