O'Brien and Desmond lose High Court challenge to McDowell appointment

Businessmen Denis O'Brien and Dermot Desmond have lost a High Court challenge to the Moriarty Tribunal's retention of Michael McDowell as senior counsel.

O'Brien and Desmond had argued the appointment of the former Taánaiste and PD leader could give the tribunal the appearance of bias.
