Irish Haiti volunteers forced to cancel trip

A total of 600 Irish volunteers have had their trips to Haiti cancelled, it has emerged.

It is due to a cholera outbreak which has killed around 250 people.

Some 300 volunteers attached to Haven were due to leave last Saturday, with another 300 scheduled to depart this Saturday.

However, the journeys were cancelled due to the cholera infection.
