Extending deficit deadline not feasible, says Taoiseach

Taoiseach Brian Cowen has said today that it is "not feasible" to extend out correcting the deficit in the public finances beyond 2014.

Mr Cowen's comments come as the ESRI says getting the deficit down to 3% by 2014 is overly ambitious.
