Third man arrested after Dundalk murder
Gardaí have upgraded their investigation into the death of a Co Louth teenager to one of murder.
A third person has been arrested in connection with an alleged assault on Niall Dorr, after the arrest of two men last night.
The 18-year-old recieved head injuries during an attack at Castle Road in Dundalk on Wednesday night. He died at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda last night.
A post mortem on Niall Dorr's body was completed this afternoon. Gardaí are not releasing the results for operational reasons.
They have however upgraded their investigation to one of murder. Superintendent Gerry Curley from Dundalk garda station appealed for witnesses to come forward.
Two men in their 20s were arrested in connection with the attack on Niall Dorr last night.
A third man, who is in his 30s, has also now been detained for questioning. He was arrested in Dundalk at around 4pm today and is being held by gardaí in Drogheda.
