Man killed in Sligo crash

A man was killed in a crash in Co. Sligo this morning.

The single-vehicle collision happened on the N17 near Collooney at about 6am.

The scene remains sealed off for forensic examinations and gardaí say the road will be closed until lunchtime

This latest fatality comes after four lost their lives on the country's roads over the weekend.

Three men and a woman died in separate crashes in counties Kilkenny, Cavan, Offaly and Dublin.

A 16-year-old boy is in a critical condition in hospital after the collision in Cavan.
