Alzheimer Society calls for funding to be ringfenced

Some 1,000 people with dementia are on the Alzheimer Society of Ireland's waiting list for help.

Some 1,000 people with dementia are on the Alzheimer Society of Ireland's waiting list for help.

In its pre-budget submission, the Society is calling on the Government to protect its funding levels for next year.

It estimates it needs just under €20m to maintain its current level of services and clear the waiting list.
