Vatican officials to meet with victims of abuse
A Vatican investigation team is to meet with victims of clerical child sexual abuse and their families.
It comes as Ireland's four archbishops return from Rome today after visiting senior Vatican officials this week.
Cardinal Seán Brady along with Archbishops Diarmuid Martin, Dermot Clifford and Michael Neary have spent this week in Rome.
During their visit to the Vatican they met with investigators who are expected to visit Ireland in the coming weeks to look into the Church's handling of child sex abuse allegations here over the past two decades.
A statement issued by the Vatican said the team will give particular attention to victims of abuse and their families when they visit Ireland in the coming weeks.
However, the statement gave no details of when or how this may happen.
It is unlikely that this be enough for survivors, who have long been campaigning for a full apology from the Church.
