Controversial Dublin speed limit to be dropped
A 30 kilometre an hour speed limit is to be lifted from certain streets in Dublin city centre.
Councillors last night voted to restore a 50 kilometre an hour restriction on Winetavern Street and part of the quays, although the change will not take effect until next year.
At the same meeting, it was decided that the College Green 'bus gate' will not be lifted for the Christmas period, as happened last year.
The move is expected to anger businesses in the area.
