Man due in court over assault in Dublin

A man in his twenties is due in court later after an assault in Dublin which left a 27-year-old man fighting for his life.

A man in his twenties is due in court later after an assault in Dublin which left a 27-year-old man fighting for his life.

The victim, who is a Polish national, was attacked at the Newtown Industrial Estate in Coolock, north Dublin in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Gardaí found the man on the roadway in the Newtown Industrial Estate in Coolock at around 5am on Saturday morning.

He was on his way to work nearby when the incident occured.

The man had sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Beaumont hospital where he is said to be in a critical condition.

Gardaí arrested three men over the incident - one of them is due in court later this morning, charged in connection with the brutal attack.

The two other men, in their teens, remain in Garda custody at Raheny and Clontarf garda stations.
