Second man arrested in connection with Dublin assault
Gardai in Dublin have arrested a second man in connection with a serious assault that occurred at Newtown Industrial Estate in Coolock yesterday.
The male in his late teens is being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Raheny Garda Station.
The first man arrested still remains in custody in Swords Garda Station.
The victim, a 27-year-old Polish national, was assaulted on his way to work in the industrial estate early yesterday morning.
He was discovered at the side of a road and taken to Beaumont Hospital, where he is said to be in a critical condition.
Detectives earlier appealed for anyone who was in the industrial estate or the Malahide Road area, between the Hilton Hotel and Darndale Roundabout, between 4am and 5am yesterday, to get in touch.
They are especially asking delivery drivers, taxi drivers or anyone working in the industrial estate to come forward.
