An ambulance and a council recycling van were in collision today on the main Derry to Belfast road.

An ambulance and a council recycling van were in collision today on the main Derry to Belfast road.

It happened at the junction of Glenshane Road and Gulf Road.

The ambulance, which had no patient on board, landed on its side on a grass verge but the two crew were not badly hurt.

Two employees of Derry City Council were in the van but were not injured.

All four were taken to hospital as a precaution.
