EU approves funding to retrain ex-SR Technics staff

The European Commission has approved funding of €7.4m to help retrain 850 workers made redundant by aircraft maintenance firm SR Technics.

A total of 1,135 employees were made redundant when the company pulled out of Ireland last year.

The Irish Government will contribute up to €4m to the fund.
