Woman due in court in connection with Lilly Scanlon death

A 54-year old woman is due in court later charged in connection with the death of Lilly Scanlon in Athlone more than two years ago.

The mother of three from Clara in Co Offaly was found dead in the kitchen of her rented home in Athlone town on May 9, 2008.

Ms Scanlon had lived in the terraced house in Valley Court with two other women.

Orginally from Clara in Co Offaly, she had moved to Athlone following a marriage seperation.

Gardaí last night charged a 54-year-old woman in connection with the death. She will appear before Athlone District Court later this morning.
