Five injured in Clare crash

Five people have been injured, two seriously, in a two-car crash on the M18 in Co Clare.

The crash, which left the motorway closed between junctions 11 and 12, happened at around 12.40pm near Manusmore about six kilometres from Ennis.

One woman was cut from the wreckage while the four occupants of the second car managed to scramble from their vehicle

Two other people, including a young child, are being treated for minor injures and shock.

The motorway has now been reopened.
