Gardaí rescue drowning woman in Dublin city

The body of an elderly woman is being recovered from the River Liffey in Dublin's city centre.

An elderly woman is in a critical condition after she was rescued from the river Liffey near Heuston Station in Dublin.

Passersby raised the alarm at Wolfe Tone Quay at 4.40pm this evening.

The woman is being treated at St James Hospital.
