Ireland 'one of world's most charitable nations'

Ireland is among the top 10 most charitable countries in the world, with happy people more likely to give than the wealthy.

The Charities Aid Foundation World Giving Index used data from 153 countries.

Ireland came joint third with Canada, while the UK tied in eighth place.

Australia and New Zealand topped the index in the study, which the CAF says is the largest of its kind.
