The funeral of actor Mick Lally has taken place in Dublin.
Hundreds of people, including faces from the worlds of screen, stage, politics and sport, attended the humanist service at the Newlands Cross Crematorium this afternoon.
The 64-year-old, who will be best remembered for playing Miley Byrney in 'Glenroe', died on Tuesday after a short illness.
Mick Lally's son Darach spoke on behalf of the family.
"The media coverage and the nations reaction is a testament to how much a self developed code of ethics and a strict discipline of treating all with respect even it wasn't reciprocal could shape a character of such rarity.
"It seemed that no one exposed to him, could be immune to his magnetism," he said.
