London contestant wins Rose of Tralee

London Rose Clare Kamembattu was tonight crowned this year's Rose of Tralee.

The 25-year-old assistant psychologist from Athy in Co Kildare was picked from 32 hopefuls after a two-day contest in the Festival Dome.

She will spend the next 12 months travelling the world representing Ireland as the Golden Jubilee International Rose of Tralee.
