Oral hearing on Corrib gas line today

The battle over the Corrib gas line resumes today.

An alternative route for the pipeline will be outlined at An Bord Pleanala oral hearing ten years after the planning row began.

There are now plans to build a giant underwater tunnel to bring the fuel ashore.

The planning authority ordered Shell E&P Ltd to redesign the pipeline for a third time and move it away from homes.
