Callely gets two more weeks

The Seanad Committee on Members Interests has given Ivor Callely a further two weeks to respond to allegations about his expenses.

The committee has also decided this evening to dismiss the complaint made against Senator Ronan Mullen - who was facing questions over an anecdote he told about expenses.

No further action will be taken by the committee against Senator Ann Ormonde - who faced allegations over travel expenses.

However Senator Larry Butler has been ordered to attend a public hearing on Tuesday, September 21st to deal with questions from the committee about his travel claims.
