Callely and three others respond to expenses controversy

Ivor Callely has sent a written response to the Seanad Commitee on Members Interests regarding his expenses claims.

The latest controversy surrounding his expenses relates to invoices from a company which no longer existed.

Senator Callely has paid back the money relating to those receipts to the Oireachtas.

Three other Senators have also written to the committee, which is due to meet privately on Monday, to clarify issues surrounding their expenses.

The committee will have to decide whether it has enough information to continue its inquiries - it is expected that more time may be required for additional information to be submitted.
