Serious concerns are being raised over the confiscation by the PSNI of a journalist's mobile phone in the North.

On foot of a warrant, police seized a mobile phone belonging to Derry-based freelance journalist Eamonn McDermott this morning.

The National Union of Journalists has said it is taking the seizure "very seriously" since it poses a threat to the confidentiality of journalistic sources.
