Dissidents supporters call off protest at marches
The Minister for Foreign Affairs Micheál Martin has said he hopes today's marches in the North pass off peacefully.
Justice Minister David Ford is also hoping for a trouble-free weekend.
Police and politicians in the North are also appealing for calm as around 15,000 people are expected to take part in today's Apprentice Boys march in Derry.
Security is tight for the biggest parade in the Protestant Marching season.
Meanwhile supporters of dissident republican prisoners have called off their planned protest in Derry today which was to coincide with the march.
