Brother of victim hid gun under car, coroner's court hears

The coroner's court has heard how the brother of a man shot dead in Dublin told gardaí he had hidden the gun used in the killing under a car.

Gavin McCarthy, 21, of Oriel Street Lower in the North inner city was shot dead by an attacker on a bicycle in October 2008.

Gardaí said the scene of the shooting was very tense and they found it very difficult to get information from people that were there.

No-one has been charged to date in connection with the killing.
