Stoppage planned for St James' Hospital

A day-long stoppage is planned by staff attached to the TEEU at St James's Hospital next Monday.

It comes after talks at the Labour Relations Commission between the HSE and the TEEU adjourned without agreement yesterday evening.

The row centres on outsourcing of electrical work at the Dublin hospital.

The TEEU says it has health and safety concerns about the plan, as well as concerns for its members jobs.

Members of the TEEU will meet in coming days to consider an escalation of their action, which has already seen two four hour stoppages and is likely to result in the day-long stoppage next Monday.

The LRC says its facilities remain available for further talks.
