Record number of food businesses served with closure orders last month

A record number of food businesses were ordered to close last month because of safety concerns.

Many of the thirteen closure orders issued by the Food Safety Authority for July were for food stalls - including a Chinese fast food stand at the Oxegen Festival in Co Kildare.

The FSAI today warned all food business operators to place robust food safety systems and hygiene practices at the top of their agendas.
