Thousands protest hospital cutbacks in Donegal

More than 2,000 people took part in a protest in Letterkenny, County Donegal this afternoon against the planned downgrading of the local hospital.

The Health Service Executive is planning a range of cutbacks to staff and services at Letterkenny General Hospital in a bid to save €8m.

Sinn Féin Senator Pearse Doherty said people are "tremendously angry" at the threatened cuts.
