Army makes bomb safe outside PSNI station
A British Army bomb disposal team has carried out a controlled explosion on a car that was abandoned outside a PSNI station in Belfast.
It is the latest in a series of alerts involving members of the security forces in the North.
The car was abandoned outside the New Barnsley PSNI station in the west of the city last night.
When the alarm was raised, explosives experts were called to the scene and they carried out a controlled explosion on the vehicle.
Police haven't said if there was a bomb in the car, or if a warning was given, however about 100 families were evacuated from their homes during the alert.
It follows the discovery of a booby trap bomb under a soldier's car in County Down yesterday, and a car bombing outside a police station in Derry on Tuesday.
Both of those incidents have been condemned by politicians and police.
