Teen charged in connection with parade violence

A teenager has been charged with riotous assembly in Belfast over the Twelfth period.

He handed himself into Woodburn police station yesterday after images were released of people wanted in connection with last month’s violence.

The 19-year-old will appear at Belfast Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.

Police came under attack with missiles and explosives during some of the worst violence for years after an Orange Order parade on July 12 through Ardoyne.
