Cowen promises cross-border investment in North-West

The Taoiseach Brian Cowen has said a new motorway linking Belfast and Dublin is a ''powerful symbol of what we can achieve when we work together".

The 12 kilometre final stretch of road - which cost more than £150m (€179m) - cuts out the final bottleneck around Newry.
