Gardaí have seized drugs worth €600,000 and discovered a cannabis factory in Dublin.

A man and woman have been arrested and are being questioned at Blackrock garda station.

At 1pm yesterday, Gardaí stopped and searched a car on the Drummartin Link Road in Stillorgan.

They found 5 kilos of herbal cannabis in the boot of the car, and the 33-year-old driver was arrested.

Later, a follow up search of a house in Mount Anville Wood in Stillorgan revealed the entire upstairs was being used as a cannabis factory.

Each of the four bedrooms contained 'a pot grow system' with high-density lighting systems, reflective wall coverings, and extensive ventilation and air extraction systems.

Approximately 500 cannabis plants and several more kilos of cannabis grass were discovered, while a 33-year-old woman was also arrested at the house.

Detectives also carried out two follow up searches in Clondalkin and Crumlin.

The operation was all part of an ongoing crackdown on the sale and supply of drugs in the Blackrock area.
