Children's advocacy groups to meet Oireachtas Committee

The heads of the country's two largest children's advocacy groups will outline to an Oireachtas Committee today what measures they think need to be implemented to ensure children here are protected.

The Oireachtas Committee on Health and Children will hear from Fergus Finlay from Barnardos and Ashley Balbirnie of the ISPCC.

They will outline their priority areas for child protection and welfare in the aftermatch of the Ryan and Murphy Reports.

Issues like the referendum on children's rights, 24-hour social work services and the vetting process for adults working with children are expected to top the agenda.
