A Laois man who torched his ex-girlfriend’s car when he saw another man in her house has received a two-year suspended sentence and 200 hours' community service.

A Laois man who torched his ex-girlfriend’s car when he saw another man in her house has received a two-year suspended sentence and 200 hours' community service.

John Farrell (aged 26) also smashed in the windows of her flat after getting into an argument with the man. Judge Katherine Delahunt said Farrell’s action could only be described as “a complete moment of madness”.
