Men arrested in connection with cash van raid

Gardaí have arrested two men over the attempted robbery of a Brinks Allied van in Dublin this afternoon.

An empty security box was taken during the incident at 12.10 pm at Annesley Bridge in Fairview.

The men are being questioned at Fitzgibbon Street garda station under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act and can be held for up to 24 hours.
