No breakthrough in Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown refuse dispute

Crunch talks between unions and management in the Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown refuse dispute in Dublin have ended for the day, without resolution.

SIPTU says industrial action will begin on Thursday unless the current deadlock can be broken.

The dispute centres on a decision by the County Council to outsource bin collection services to private company Panda from next Monday.

Negotiations are due to resume at the Labour Relations Commission tomorrow afternoon.
