A Mayo man accused of raping his ex-girlfriend’s mother told gardaí that he was not aware of the complainant being in the house he was staying in at the time of the alleged rape and said he “never went near her”.

A Mayo man accused of raping his ex-girlfriend’s mother told gardaí that he was not aware of the complainant being in the house he was staying in at the time of the alleged rape and said he “never went near her”.

The accused man has pleaded not guilty at the Central Criminal Court to raping the woman at an address in Co Mayo on November 6, 2005.
