No criminal charges for O'Dea

Former Defence Minister Willie O'Dea will not face a criminal case following an investigation into allegations he perjured himself in an affadavit in a libel action.

Mr O'Dea was informed yesterday by a senior garda officer of the decision by the DPP.

Mr O'Dea was forced to resign his Cabinet post in February in the row over a suggestion by him that a Sinn Féin councillor was linked to a brothel in Limerick city.
