Young woman killed in Tipperary crash

A 27-year-old woman has been killed in a road crash in south Tipperary.

The car she was driving left the Fethard-to-Cashel Road in the early hours.

The woman was discovered at the scene at 9am today and was pronounced dead. She was alone in the car, and no one else was injured.

The woman's body has been taken to South Tipperary General Hospital where a post mortem examination will take place.

The road is completely closed to traffic and will remain so until further notice.

Motorists are asked to take an alternative route.
