Push to clear backlog of refugee cases

Efforts are being made to clear the over 500 failed refugee cases before the courts.

According to reports, judges have been asked to cut short their summer holidays, in a bid to address the backlog.

It's understood High Court President Mr Justice Nicholas Kearns has requested that 14 senior judges come back early to hear the asylum cases.

It comes as hundreds of refugees protest at Mosney in Co. Meath - the asylum seekers are refusing attempts to move them to accomodation in Dublin.
