Man still in custody in connection with hammer attack

Gardaí are continuing to question a 39-year-old man in connection with an attack in west Dublin yesterday.

Joanna Benko, 31, is fighting for her life in hospital after being beaten with a hammer at her home in Ladyswell Road, Mulhuddart yesterday morning.

She was rushed to James Connolly Memorial Hospital in Blanchardstown and later transferred to Beaumont Hospital, where she is said to be in critical but stable condition.
