Two TDs lose party whip after Wildlife Bill vote

Tipperary TD Mattie McGrath has been expelled from the Fianna Fáil parliamentary party after voting against the Government's Wildlife Bill.

Labour TD Tommy Broughan abstained from the final vote last night and has lost the party whip as a result.

Cork TD Christy O'Sullivan will also have to explain himself to the Government Chief Whip John Curran, after he abstained from one vote but later sided with the Government.

While two independent TDs who normally support the Government will also be reprimanded today. Michael Lowry and Jackie Healy Rae voted, as was expected, against the Bill.
