Post mortem due on man in Navan

A post mortem examination will be carried out today on the body of a man who died almost a week after being assulted in Co. Meath.

A post mortem examination will be carried out today on the body of a man who died almost a week after being assulted in Co. Meath.

63-year-old Martin O'Gorman - who was originally from Athlone, but was living in Navan - was found unconscious by a taxi driver on Academy Street in Navan last Monday night.

It is believed he sustained head injuries during a serious assault by a group of up to four people.

He died at Beaumont Hospital in Dublin yesterday.

Investigating gardaí have renewed their appeal for information.
