Thieves target Bank of Ireland branch in Cavan

A robbery has taken place at the Bank of Ireland branch at Kingscourt, Co Cavan.

Two men entered the premises and made off with a sum of money.

Details are sketchy at this point, and gardaí could not confirm a report that the thieves' car hit another vehicle as they made their escape.

It is understood however that no shots were fired and that no one was injured in the incident.
