Redundancy package agreed for Bitec workers

A redundancy package has been agreed for workers at Bitech Engineering in Co Louth.

SIPTU has now withdrawn strike notice at the Dunleer plant.

The settlement terms were reached as a result of talks facilitated by the Labour Relations Commission.

Bitech is due to close in October, with the loss of almost 200 jobs.
