A smoking-prevention research centre has called for the tobacco industry to be required to introduce plain cigarette packets.

Dr Crawford Moodie of the Centre for Tobacco Control Research at Scotland's University of Stirling said that young people would not be so drawn to cigarettes if the packaging were plain.
