Board: Investment risk being taken with pensions 'still high'
The level of investment risk being taken with Irish pensions remains very high, according to a new report.
Pensions suffered serious losses between 2007 and early 2009 because of the substantial risks being taken - with Defined Benefit Schemes up to €30bn in deficit last year alone.
However, the Pensions Board has said lessons of the past are still not being applied today - and while it has no power to direct investments - it is warning against the high risk approach.
